I'd been wanting to give List a try for quite some time... So, before seeing a show at the Crocodile, we decided List was going to be a good choice. It's a tiny restaurant, easy to miss, located on 1st in Belltown. It's a 21 and over spot, so no children allowed! It's a small restaurant, that seats maybe about 36 people.
First, Happy Hour is awesome! 1/2 off most food items! $14 bottles of wine?! Wow. Most of the plates are small, tapas sized, but great for sharing. Bacon wrapped Florida Prawns ($13, HH $6.50), Gnocchi with Black Truffle Cream ($11, HH $5.50), and even a $5 Burger during Happy Hour!
By the time our food arrived it was too dark to take any photos without causing a scene and using a flash. I had Natural Beef Shoulder Tenderloin ($12), and my SO had the Angus Burger and Fries ($10, HH $5).
The Beef Tenderloin was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium rare. Fries sprinkled with goat cheese were on the side, and these were ok - I am not a huge fan of goat cheese, so I may have preferred the fries without it. It was a huge serving, I only finished about half of my steak and 1/3 of the fries. I don't know where else you can get a steak of this size for $12, let alone a steak half the size for $12. This dish isn't on the Happy Hour menu, but it's a great bargain anyways!
The burger was kind of lackluster - It was just a burger on a ciabatta roll with traditional burger accompaniments - lettuce, tomato and onion. It also came with a heaping pile of fries.
We also shared the Organic Tomato Salad with Gorgonzola Cheese ($6, HH $3). This was really small but very good - Generous portion of Gorgonzola for the right amount of cheese to tomato ratio. It was full of flavor, and the tomatoes tasted sweet and earthy, as if they were plucked from the vine. Yum!
We will definitely be back to List, especially for Happy Hour!
