Bluebird Homemade Ice Cream & Tea Room

With warm weather approaching (FINALLY!), cold treats are so tempting!  While wandering through Capitol Hill on a lazy Sunday afternoon, we hit the Broadway Farmer's Market, then Bluebird Ice Cream!  

We walked down a little flight of steps into the cute blue ice cream shop...  There are board games and a collection of National Geographic Magazines to entertain you, it's definitely a place you can hang out at. It was pretty mellow for a warm pre-summer day.

I decided to go for two scoops, one scoop Chocolate Pudding, and one scoop of Snickerdoodle.   The scoops are generous too!  We sat in the barstools at the window to people watch and eat our ice cream.  I actually prefer my ice cream super frozen, this was a little melty, but it was still really good.  The Chocolate Pudding is rich, and very chocolately without being too sweet.  It was fantastic!  The Snickerdoodle was equally as flavorful, and the two together kind of resembled Mexican Hot Chocolate.

Great ice cream in a sea of frozen yogurt shops on the hill... I loved it and I am sure we'll be back when the weather gets nice again!
