New Year, New Clothes!

I love to shop - well, correction, I love fabulous clothes.  I'll make a splurge every now and then, but really, I love finding great deals on the clothes I buy.  I care about the quality of my clothes, and I can be a bit of a label whore at times.  But this doesn't prevent me from buying basics at the Gap or Old Navy - and one of my favorite places to shop is Anthropologie.  I can be a girly girl and I even have a wanna be rockstar style at times too.  I don't stick to fashion guidelines, I try to just be myself.

My SO's parents recently moved to Las Vegas - so for the holidays, we usually head down after Christmas and stay for NYE - Good times!  Of course being that Vegas is a shopping mecca on the west coast, I usually save up extra spending money so I can shop to my hearts content.  Not to mention the after Christmas sales that go down!

This year, I didn't do as much shopping as I had planned, but did manage to buy a few things at the Gap an additional 50% off all sale, just too good to pass up! Here's what I picked up at the Gap at The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace:

Vintage long sleeve tee - $3.99 ($7.99 -50% off)

At this price, I bought every color - charcoal, heather gray, new vineyard, black, optic white, dk green, navy and oatmeal...  These tees are soft and really thin, but great for layering in the gloomy Seattle weather.  I've washed them and they've held up fine - they don't shrink much in the dryer, but I noticed a little bit of pilling on the beige one, the others are fine!

Lightweight Down Puffer Jacket $19.99 ($39.99 -50% off)

So I wasn't quite expecting NYE in Vegas to be 24 degrees and windy out - It was so freaking cold!  I knew we were headed out to the strip to watch the fireworks, and that I needed another layer - For $20, this jacket was perfect!  All of the pockets have zippers, which were nice, it's light and packs really well, a few feathers have come out, no biggie.  It's on the shiny side, but this purchase was definitely more about function than style!

Drape Neck Cardigan $17.49 ($34.00 -50% off)

So, I haven't worn this one yet... but I have the perfect skirt to go with it.  I love the deep plum color.  It's a thin cardigan, and very flattering! Love it!

Cowl Neck Sweater Dress $17.48 ($34.97 -50%)

Since I'm not as tall as the model, this sweater dress hits at my knee - perfect with leggings and booties - I was more impressed the first day, but I have only worn this once, and it's heavily pilled and almost looks old and ratty.  Thankfully it was only $18, so no big deal, but I think removing the pills will get old really soon.  ahh well.. Cute design, too bad the pilling sucks!

And here's my finds at Banana Republic, also 50% off all sale!

V-Neck Cable Tunic $29.99 ($59.99 -50%)

I saw this sweater before it hit the sale, but I didn't want to pay full price for it, so when I saw it, I felt a little tinge of shoppers euphoria!  Unfortunately this sweater, like the Gap sweater dress, is pilling alot.  It's super cozy, layered with a long sleeved tee underneath (the $3.99 Gap one above in black was great!)  But again, because of the pilling, I don't know how long this will stay in my closet.  Probably just for this winter - Too bad!

Heritage by BR Military Sweater $49.99 ($99.99 -50%)

This sweater is super soft! I love the bronze details on the shoulders and the hook and eye closures down the front!  Pilling is minimal, some under the arms, but easily removed.  The sleeves are a little long, so I am thinking about taking it in above the black cuffs.  Super cozy, super warm.  Great find at 50% off the sale price!

Anthropologie at the Forum Shops was disappointing - I didn't find anything at all there.. oh well... We also ventured over to the new hotel and casino, The Cosmopolitan - I was thrilled to see an enormous All Saints Spitalfields store!  I fell in love with the Night Florals Mini dress, but with a tag of $640, I had to pass it up.   Urgh.  I will be checking the Seattle All Saints store for a sale - I loved this top.  Actually, I loved most of what All Saints was selling!

Total Shopping Spree: $180!  (wayyyy too modest for a week in Vegas!)
